Curling Up With A Good Book
With the stormy weather we're having this month I'm finding it a real pleasure in the evenings to curl up with a good book and a glass of wine as the wind and rain beat against the windows.
I'm currently reading The Mistletoe Bride by Kate Mosse, a collection of atomospheric and ghostly short stories, perfect for a winter's night. I particularly like that the stories are rooted in the elemental landscapes of Sussex (the English county where I live) and Brittany and the Languedoc, 2 areas of France that I feel connected with.
Its stormy again tonight, so looking forward to the next installment with background atmosphere provided by mother nature...
This looks like a fabulous read on a dark and stormy night. I will have to try and find myself a copy although I will be reading it under the sunshine of southern California. I miss the winter seasons of long ago. I'm saying hello today from Planet Penny's Happy Friday.
ReplyDeleteI know, people here grumble a lot about the weather but personally I love having the different seasons :)
DeleteOoh - I love a good ghost story. I'll have to look out for that one at the library. You're right, it's perfect weather for it at the moment. x
ReplyDeleteyes, it wouldn't be the same reading this in the summer!
