Happiness is an organised workstation

As "operation declutter" continues, I managed to buy some useful storage boxes and a new waste bin in the sales last week-end (Store Twenty One if you're interested -  I got 5 different items for just over a tenner).

There is not only space being cleared in my work area but there is also a system developing, and it feels good.

There is still some clearing to do so I'm not prepared to show my whole work area just yet because there's still more work to be done, but these photos are a little taster ....

But what made me happy was that with a cleared workspace, I was ready to get stuck in and get creative again and this week have started work on some stacked gemstone bracelets.

I don't have a plan with my jewellery making but just go with the colours and patterns I'm drawn to at the time.  Interestingly, for the browns/oranges bracelet I used zebra jasper for the first time and it wasn't until I'd finished the bracelet that I looked up the said healing properties of this gemstone and that it is supposed to help overcome apathy, bring motivation and energy and jasper in general is said to help organisational skills - well it does seem I chose the best gemstone for the job!

  1. What lovely gemstones, and I like the clever way you have photographed them. It is always good to have a Spring clean, even if we are not quite at Spring yet.

    1. thank you for your nice comments. In terms of "spring cleaning" I've found it best to strike while the iron's hot - if I waited until spring, it might not happen!!

  2. I'm hopelessly untidy but I just love it when I've had a good organising session, it makes it so much easier to work and be inspired. Well done to getting to grips with your storage, it looks great. Penny (Planet Penny)

    1. Thanks Penny - they do say untidiness is a sign of creativity (which is a good thing), but it can also get in the way (which is not such a good thing)!

    1. ooh - maybe you should think about making some jewellery again? I started a couple of years ago as "therapy" because I developed pain and stiffness in my hands and fingers. It certainly helped and my condition has now improved quite a lot, but as a result I'm now hooked on making jewellery!

  6. I hope your better than me at being organized. I tidy up and in no time I'm in a mess again. Your bracelets are really pretty. I like how you've mixed the small and larger stones in one bracelet, they work really well together. Have a lovely weekend.

    1. Hi - thanks for your nice comments. Yes, I thought the boxes would look good in my "yellow" room so I was glad I came across them when I did :)

  8. I definitely need to sort out better storage! I have no designated work room so have to keep everything in our lounge dinner and bedroom.

    1. Mr Cocopopia says I'm obsessed with boxes (which I probably am) but have to say they do make a big difference when it comes to keeping things tidy!
